  Decision Day When I first downloaded both PrimerePro (PP) and InDesign I can’t lie I was extremely overwhelmed with the though of trying to gain mastery of these programs which looked extremely complicated to me. I had never worked on software that was this complex ever before, so I was in shock to say the least. However, as I began playing with both, I realized its just going to take time a patience and I will eventually get it (even though that may take longer than I would like it to). I am not the kind of person who usually reads magazines, seeing as I get most of my news from online, so when we were reviewing all these magazines in class, I realized how much detail and thought really goes into the cover page, and the content page. For example, when talking about brand loyalty, the “Oprah” magazine we were reviewing, shows how she has made her entire brand built around joy and happiness. This becomes evident in the lettering she puts the biggest on the cover, along with the articles she writes about inside the magazine. People buy this magazine to find ways to “live their best life”, and find happiness in dark times, and she stays true to that by emphasizing words such as "joy" on the front cover, along with writing articles about how to "find the joy in mourning".   The impact of the cover image is also extreme. I had never really thought a whole lot about the first opening sequences of movies. Its always just been something that i felt had no big meaning behind it other than to show the actors names, and the title. As we were analyzing them i class, i was extremely surprised by the amount of  thought, and underlying details that went into just those first two minutes, to help not only introduce the movie itself, but hook the person watching as well. For example, in the article "First frames: titles in the digital realm" they talk about how "An opening titles sequence generally engages with the big themes of the film and looks at overarching themes and metaphors of the film". That article also touches on the point that "Titles design in film is arguably set to become an acclaimed aspect of the film going experience."   My favorite video we watched was entitled "What About Bob" the first two minutes hooked me so much that i went home and watched the rest ...
